Saint Zenon of Egypt
Biography
Saint Zeno of Egypt (died c. 451) was an early Christian hermit from Egypt venerated as a saint and one of the Desert Fathers. He belonged to the second generation of Scetis monks. He was a disciple of Saint Silvanus of Egypt and followed his master from Egypt to Palestine and Syria. Toward the end of his life, he became a hermit in the region of Gaza and died around 451. He is not to be confused with Saint Zeno of Palestine. The Church venerates him as a saint, with his feast day celebrated on December 26.
