About

Saint Finder is a Catholic devotional + educational app with three flows: Saint of the Day, a Finder (“who do I pray to for X?”), and a browseable Library of saints with biographies, patronages, and prayers.

Calendar

General Roman Calendar (USA propers, 1969 reform). Feast dates and ranks follow the post-Vatican II calendar as published in the USCCB liturgical calendar. We do not currently support the 1962 Missal calendar.

Sources

  • Calendar data: cpbjr/catholic-readings-api (MIT license).
  • Biographical data: Wikidata (CC0) and Wikipedia (CC BY-SA 4.0, attributed per saint).
  • Patronage data: Wikidata, Wikipedia, and the Catholic Encyclopedia (1913) (public domain). Sources are cited per row on each detail page.
  • Images: Wikimedia Commons. Individual images carry their own licenses (public domain or Creative Commons); credit is shown beneath each image.

Errors and corrections

Spot a factual error, a missing saint, a bad patronage, a mis-cited source? Email bnakaska@gmail.com. Tell us the page and the issue; we'll fix it.

Licensing

The application source code is MIT-licensed. Saint data, prayers, and images carry their respective upstream licenses as cited per entry. See Privacy for data handling.

Caveat

This app is a starting point, not a magisterial source. For matters of doctrine or canonical status, defer to the Holy See and your local diocesan resources.
