Biography

Saint Vitalian of Osimo (died 8th century) was the bishop of Osimo, Italy, for 33 years during the 8th century. The Catholic Church venerates him as a saint, with a feast day on July 16. He oversaw the construction of the Cathedral of Osimo, dedicated to Saint Leopardus, the first bishop of the city in the 4th century. He was buried in the same location. In 1755, the commune of Osimo named him one of the city's many patron saints. He is celebrated on July 16, just like his namesake, Saint Vitalian of Capua.
