Saint Victor de Mouzon

350–420 · Early Church

Biography

Victor of Mouzon (born at an unknown date and died c. 420) is, according to tradition, a shepherd martyred for urging his sister to resist the advances of a governor. He is a lay saint of very modest life, who could embody a popular aspiration for holiness, like several saints of the Ardennes marches. He is a saint whose life has been transmitted only through a few rare manuscripts.
