Saint Vasily of Pariya

Not to be confused with Saint Basil the Confessor (the Decapolite), commemorated on February 28 (March 13) in non-leap years, or Saint Basil the New Confessor, commemorated on March 26 (April 8). Basil of Parium (Greek: Βασίλειος Παρίου; died in the first third of the 9th century) was the Bishop of Parium, a supporter of the veneration of icons, and a victim of the iconoclastic persecutions in the Byzantine Empire. He is venerated by the Orthodox Church as a confessor, with his feast day celebrated on April 12 (25).
