Biography
Saint Stephen of Châtillon, born in 1155 in Châtillon, France, and died in 1208, was a Carthusian monk, prior of the Charterhouse of Portes in Bugey, and bishop of Die from 1202. Liturgically, he is commemorated on September 7 (October 13 in the Carthusian calendar). He should not be confused with Saint Stephen of Bourg, another canonized Carthusian and friend of Saint Bruno.
