Biography

Thérèse Kim (Korean: 김 데레사) was a Korean Christian laywoman, born around 1797 in Myeoncheon, Chungcheong Province, who died in prison on January 9, 1840. Recognized as a martyr and beatified in 1925, she was canonized by Pope John Paul II on May 6, 1984, along with 102 other Korean martyrs. Her feast days are January 9 and September 20.
