Biography
Basilia Cornago Zapater, later known as Sister Mónica de Jesús, was born in Monteagudo, Navarre, on May 17, 1889. She was the third of ten children. Raised in a rural family with deep Christian roots, at the age of 19 she felt the Lord's call to religious life and entered the Monastery of Saint Mary Magdalene of the Augustinians in Baeza. She died there in holiness on June 14, 1964.
