Biography

Papino, or Papio (Latin: Papinus or Papius, from the Greek Παπίου-Παππίου), also known as Pappius or Pappianus (fl. 4th century), was a Christian martyr venerated by the Catholic Church and the Orthodox Church; the latter venerates him under the names Papias and Pappias. He is the primary patron saint and protector of the city of Milazzo, which celebrates his feast day on June 17. He is also commemorated on June 28, a feast day removed from the editio typica of the Roman Martyrology (2001), Italian edition 2004.
