Biography

Floribert of Ghent (died c. 661) was the first abbot of Saint Peter's Abbey in Ghent. He came from the Abbey of Elnone in Saint-Amand-les-Eaux and was summoned to Ghent by Saint Amand, who appointed him the first abbot of a newly founded abbey on the Blandijnberg, Saint Peter's Abbey. He was canonized on April 20, 1049. His feast day is November 1.
