Biography

Saint Rusticus is a saint of the Roman Catholic Church. A priest, patron of peasants, and companion of Saint Denis, he suffered martyrdom alongside him and the deacon Eleutherius at the end of the 3rd century. Tradition holds that they were beheaded on the butte Montmartre. A street at the summit of this hill, the Rue Saint-Rustique, is named after him. His feast day is October 9.
