Biography

Romain Archutowski (1882–1943) was a Polish Catholic priest arrested and deported by the Nazis to the Majdanek extermination camp. He died there of typhus in 1943. Pope John Paul II beatified him along with about a hundred other Poles in 1999 and declared him a martyr of the faith.
