Biography

The Oaten Hill martyrs were English Catholics executed for high treason at Oaten Hill near Canterbury during the reign of Elizabeth I on October 1, 1588. All four were beatified by Pope Pius XI on December 15, 1929. The group consists of three priests and one layman. Christopher Buxton is the best known of the four.
