Biography

Recaredo Centelles Abad (Vall de Uxó, Castellón, May 23, 1904 – Nules, Castellón, October 25, 1936) was a Spanish priest and Doctor of Theology of the Brotherhood of Diocesan Worker Priests, dedicated to the formation of seminarians. He served as rector of the Minor Seminary of Saint Joseph in Tortosa. He died a martyr during the religious persecution of 1936, executed by firing squad at the Nules cemetery in Castellón on the dawn of October 25, 1936. He was beatified in Rome by Pope John Paul II on October 1, 1995, along with eight other martyr priests of the same brotherhood.
