Biography

Pascual Aláez Medina, OMI (born May 11, 1917, in Villaverde de Arcayos; died July 24, 1936, in Pozuelo, Madrid), was a Spanish Oblate of the Immaculate Mary. He took his first vows on August 16, 1935. On July 22, 1936, amidst the religious persecution in Spain, he was captured along with his confreres in their monastery and was executed on July 24, 1936, together with six other Oblates. The beatification of the 22 Spanish martyrs of the Oblates, including Pascual Aláez Medina, took place on December 17, 2011, at the Cathedral of Madrid.
