Biography

Pachomius of Nerekhta (secular name Iakov Ignatyev; early 14th century, Vladimir – March 23, 1384, Trinity-Sypanov Monastery) was an igumen of the Russian Orthodox Church, the first igumen of the restored Konstantinov Monastery (now a closed monastery within the city of Vladimir), and the founder of a men's monastery in Nerekhta. He is canonized as a venerable saint. His primary feast day is his name day on May 15 (28). He is also commemorated on March 21 (glorification) and in the Synaxes of Vladimir and Kostroma saints.
