Biography
Narcisse Basté Basté (1866–1936) was a Spanish Jesuit who was assassinated during the Spanish Civil War in Valencia, Spain, on October 15, 1936. Recognized as a martyr by the Catholic Church, he was beatified along with 232 other martyrs of the Spanish Civil War by Pope John Paul II on March 11, 2001. His feast day is celebrated on October 15.
