Biography
Modesto Vegas was a Spanish Franciscan friar who was born on February 24, 1912, in La Serna, Spain. During the Spanish Civil War, he was killed in 1936 in Lliçà d'Amunt, along with friars Alfonso Lopez, Dionisio Vicente, Pedro Rivera, Francisco Remón, and Miguel Remón. In 2001, Pope John Paul II approved his beatification, along with 233 other martyrs.
