Michael the Soldier (died 886) is a saint of the Orthodox Church, whose feast day is celebrated on November 22 according to the Old Style, or December 5 according to the New Style. The righteous Michael the Soldier was Bulgarian. From childhood, he lived a life of piety. According to tradition, Saint Michael killed a terrible dragon that was abducting people through his prayers. The saint died in his native city of Potuka in 886. His incorruptible relics were later transferred to the city of Tarnovo, and in the early 19th century, they were moved to Wallachia.
