Biography

Michel-Louis Brulard, born in 1748, was a priest and a member of the Order of Discalced Carmelites in Charenton. During the French Revolution, he was arrested and sentenced to deportation to French Guiana. Imprisoned on a prison ship in Rochefort, he died of pneumonia on July 25, 1794. He was beatified by John Paul II as a martyr of the faith on October 1, 1995, along with 63 other priests and religious.
