Marie Yi Seong-rye (in Korean: Yi Seong-rye Maria) was a Korean Christian laywoman and martyr, born in 1801 in Hongju, Chungcheong, Korea, and beheaded on January 31, 1840, at Danggogae, near Seoul. Her martyrdom is recognized by the Catholic Church, and she was declared venerable. She was subsequently beatified by Pope Francis on August 16, 2014. Blessed Marie Yi Seong-rye is celebrated locally on January 31.
