Blessed María del Carmen Moreno Benítez

Maria del Carmen Moreno Benítez (born August 24, 1885, in Villamartín; died September 1, 1936, in Barcelona) was a Spanish Salesian sister, martyr, and blessed of the Catholic Church. She joined the Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians. She was murdered on September 1, 1936, during the Spanish Civil War. She was beatified by Pope John Paul II on March 11, 2001, as part of the group of José Aparicio Sanz and 232 companions.
