Biography

Maria Calaf Miracle of Our Lady of Providence (born December 18, 1871; died August 19, 1936) was a Spanish blessed of the Catholic Church. She received a religious upbringing at home and became a nun. During the Spanish Civil War, she was murdered at the age of 65 on Playa del Saler near Valencia. She was beatified by Pope John Paul II on March 11, 2001, as one of the 232 companions of José Aparicio Sanz.
