Biography

Lucy of Settefonti, also known as Lucy of Septifonte or Lucy of the Seven Fountains (born in the 11th century in Bologna, died c. 1100 at Settefonti Abbey), was an Italian Camaldolese nun, virgin, abbess of the Monastery of Saint Christina in Settefonti, and a blessed of the Catholic Church. She entered the Camaldolese order at the convent of Saint Christina in Settefonti in the Diocese of Bologna. Her liturgical memorial in the Italian Catholic Church is celebrated on November 7, commemorating the translation of her relics in 1573 to the Church of Saint Andrew in Ozzano, where they remain to this day. Her cult as a blessed was confirmed by Pope Pius VI in 1779.
