Saint Liberatore

Saint Liberator was a Christian martyr, often considered a bishop, who is venerated as a saint by various churches. His liturgical memorial is observed on May 15. Nothing certain is known about this saint, which is why his name does not appear in the Roman Martyrology. Having lived during an unspecified period of the late Roman Empire or the early Middle Ages, Saint Liberator has been honored as a martyr since at least the late Middle Ages, while the first attestations of him as a bishop—which are particularly dubious—date only to the threshold of the modern era.
