Biography

Eusebio Julián Zarco-Bacas y Cuevas (Cuenca, July 27, 1887 – Paracuellos de Jarama, November 30, 1936) was a Spanish Augustinian friar and historian, librarian of El Escorial, and member of the Royal Academy of History. He was killed by Republican militiamen during the Spanish Civil War and beatified by the Catholic Church in 2007. He is usually known as Julián Zarco Cuevas.
