Carlos Murias, born on October 10, 1945, in San Carlos Minas and murdered on July 18, 1976, in Chamical, was an Argentine Catholic priest and Franciscan who was kidnapped, tortured, and executed alongside the French priest Gabriel Longueville during the military dictatorship. Faithful to the pastoral direction of his bishop, Enrique Angelelli, his ministry was characterized by his defense of the poor and those oppressed by the regime.
