Biography

José María Ferrándiz Hernández (born August 11, 1879, died September 24, 1936) was a Spanish blessed of the Catholic Church. He was ordained a priest in 1904. When the Spanish Civil War broke out in 1936, he took refuge in a hotel. He was shot to death on September 24, 1936. He was beatified by Pope John Paul II on March 11, 2001, as part of the group of José Aparicio Sanz and 232 companions.
