Biography

José María Cuartero Gascón, who took the religious name José María de Jesús y María, C.P. (Tabuenca, April 24, 1918 – Manzanares, October 23, 1936), was a brother of the Passionist Congregation murdered by anticlerical forces during the Spanish Civil War. He was beatified by Pope John Paul II on October 1, 1989.
