Biography
Johannes Rimer (born in the 14th century; died May 16, 1427) was a priest in the then-Bohemian town of Lauban in Upper Lusatia. When the Hussites conquered the town in May 1427, he was murdered along with approximately 1,000 other Catholics. Among the other victims of this massacre were many priests expelled from Bohemia as well as Catholic students who had fled from Prague, the majority of whom were of German nationality. Rimer is venerated as a saint by the Catholic Church.
