John of Spain, born in 1123 in Almanza (Kingdom of León) and died on June 25, 1160, in the commune of Le Reposoir (Duchy of Savoy), was the founder of the Charterhouse of Le Reposoir. He was beatified on July 14, 1864, by Pope Pius IX. His liturgical feast is celebrated annually on June 25.
