
Biography
Jacques Gagnot, born on February 9, 1753, was a priest of the Discalced Carmelites of the Nancy house. During the French Revolution, he was arrested and sentenced to deportation to French Guiana. Imprisoned on a ship at the Rochefort pontoons, he died on September 10, 1794, on the Île Madame. He was beatified by John Paul II on October 1, 1995.
