Saint Idunet

Biography

Iduned or Izuned was a Breton monk and deacon who lived in the 7th century. He came to Brittany to live, residing in Châteaulin, possibly at the hermitage of Loc-Iduned. According to some, he was a disciple of Saint Samson, while others claim he was a disciple of Winwaloe, the founder of Landévennec Abbey. He has been designated the patron saint of Châteaulin, Pleyben, and Pluzunet. No other record of his life remains.
