Venerable Gregory the Icon Painter

Grigory the Iconographer (11th–13th centuries) was a monk of the Kiev Pechersk Lavra. A saint of the Russian Church, he is venerated as an Orthodox saint. His memory is honored on August 8 and September 28 (according to the Julian calendar) in the liturgy of the Holy Fathers of the Kiev Pechersk Lavra. The dates of his birth and death are unknown, though various sources cite 1074 or 1105 as the year of his death without providing reliable evidence.
