Biography
Francisco Gil de Frederich (1702–1745) was a Spanish Dominican friar, a missionary in Tonkin, and a martyr who died in Hanoi. He was beatified in 1906 and canonized in 1988 along with 116 other Vietnamese martyrs. His individual feast day is celebrated on January 22, and he is commemorated collectively with the other martyrs on November 24.
