Saint Feliciano de Córdoba

1–61 · Early Church

Biography

Feliciano (d. 61) was a first-century Christian martyr born in Córdoba. Feliciano was a friend of Seneca, whom he would visit when traveling to Rome. There, he converted to Christianity, and upon learning that Nero was persecuting Christians by accusing them of the Great Fire of Rome, he took refuge in his homeland. However, he was imprisoned, and because he refused to sacrifice to idols, he was put to death in the year 61.
