Biography

Eugene of Valencia was a Christian from Hispania, a supposed disciple of the Apostle James, who died around the year 65. According to a late tradition documented from the 16th century onwards, he is considered the first bishop of Valencia. He convened a council in Peñíscola around the year 60. The participants were surprised at the meeting and executed.
