Saint Eleri o Gwytherin
Biography
Eleri was a 7th-century saint. She was one of Beuno's sisters and founded a church at Gwytherin, which remained dedicated to her until the 12th century. Her niece Winefride joined her as she aged and succeeded her as leader of the church. Eleri is one of the saints often misinterpreted as a man because she was a leader. She is sometimes called Elerius and sometimes Theonia.
