Biography

Domnica (4th century) was a holy virgin of Carthage. Her feast day is January 8. Saint Domnica was born in Carthage and traveled to Alexandria, where she converted four pagan virgins to Christianity. Together, they arrived in Constantinople during the reign of Emperor Theodosius the Great, around 384. There, she was baptized by Archbishop Nectarius. Saint Domnica dedicated herself entirely to God and became a nun. She is venerated by the Orthodox Church as Venerable Domnica of Constantinople. She died in 474.
