Biography
Dominic of Jesus and Mary (1559–1630) was a Spanish Discalced Carmelite and high-ranking official of the order who participated in certain episodes of the Thirty Years' War, as well as the founding of the Discalced Carmelite convent in Ghent. A cause for his canonization was opened in 1676, revived in the early 20th century, and remains ongoing.
