Biography

Dominique Toaï (1812–1862), born in a small village in Tonkin, was a Christian fisherman who was put to death for his Catholic faith. Considered a martyr by the Catholic Church, he was canonized on June 19, 1988, by Pope John Paul II. His feast day is celebrated annually on June 5.
