Biography

Dodo is a saint of Frisian origin. He was a hermit who lived in Haske, where he assisted victims of blood feuds. He died in 1231 when his hermitage collapsed. When he was recovered from the rubble, he bore signs of the stigmata. The Chapel of Haskerdijken, the former monastery chapel of the Hasker Convent, now stands on the site where the hermitage once stood. In memory of Saint Dodo, a small grove has been planted near the chapel, in which the letters 'DODO' can be read from the air. The grove is part of the Jabikspaad.
