Saint Dilig

Biography

Dilig was a late 5th-century saint, a daughter of Brychan, who is associated with the parish of St Illick (and the church of St Electa) in St Endellion, Cornwall. Dilig has a holy well at Cilbebyll near Pontardawe. One of the Peniarth manuscripts records that the grave of Dilic Gawr (which is over 30 feet long) is located between Llansawel and Baglan. A church in Cornwall was dedicated to this saint. Cornish variations of her name include Illick, Telick, Electa, and Delech.
