David Uribe Velasco (Buenavista de Cuéllar, Guerrero, December 29, 1889 – San José Vista Hermosa, Morelos, April 12, 1927) was a Mexican priest and martyr of the Catholic Church. The son of Juan Uribe and Victoria Velasco, he was born in the Mexican town of Buenavista de Cuéllar. He began his ecclesiastical training in 1909 and was ordained a priest on March 2, 1913. During the religious persecution of the Cristero War, he was arrested while traveling by train to the city of Iguala. He was taken to Cuernavaca and subsequently transferred to a location near San José Vista Hermosa, Morelos, where he was executed by a gunshot to the back of the neck on April 12, 1927. Saint David was beatified on November 22, 1992, and canonized on May 21, 2000, by Pope John Paul II. His remains rest in the parish of his hometown.
