Saint Dasjusz

Biography

Dasius is a saint of the Catholic Church and an early Christian martyr. Little information has survived regarding the saint, who is mentioned in the Roman Martyrology and was previously noted by Caesar Baronius. Evidence of an early cult dating back to antiquity exists, including preserved funerary inscriptions in Ancona. However, the dates of Dasius's birth and death in Durostorum, located in the Roman province of Moesia, are unknown. A credible account of his martyrdom for refusing to participate in the Saturnalia comes from an early Passio. His feast day is November 20.
