Saint Conon of Bidana

Conon of Bidana in Isauria, known as the Wonderworker (2nd century – Isauria), was an ancient Greek bishop and saint, venerated by the Catholic and Orthodox Churches. He is celebrated on March 5. In hagiographic accounts, his figure is often conflated with that of Saint Conon the Gardener. In Greek, the name is Konon, derived from konos, meaning cone; in Latin, it is Conon, which is translated as Conone, familiarly Cono, though it is also used in the variants Conolo and Conino, or combined with other names, such as Conantonio, as noted in parish registers.
