Saint Colombin de Lure

Biography

Saint Columbinus, Abbot of Lure, was an Irish monk who came to the continent in the company of Saint Columbanus of Luxeuil. His feast day is September 13. He succeeded his godfather, Saint Deicolus of Lure, as abbot of Lure. Both of their bodies were venerated in the abbey church of Lure until the French Revolution. Saint Columbinus of Lure appears alongside Saint Columbanus of Luxeuil in the painting The Saints of the Vosges.
