Biography

Claudius (died c. 270) was a holy martyr of Interamna. His feast day is January 8. During the reign of Emperor Claudius, when decrees were issued persecuting Christians, the princeps Claudius and his soldiers Carbonan, Tibudian, and Planio suffered in Interamna for assisting imprisoned Christians and helping them endure the torments they suffered for Christ. St. Claudius and his companions were arrested. After enduring torture, they attained the crowns of martyrdom. The bodies of the holy martyrs were buried in the church of the holy martyr Zeno.
