Biography

Christina of Retters is a blessed of the Premonstratensian Order (born in 1269, died circa 1291 in Retters; feast day: November 29). According to Jacques Torsy, Christina was born into a noble family from the region around Wiesbaden. While still young, she was received into the Premonstratensian community at Retters. For a long time, she suffered great spiritual torment. Eventually, she found grace through compassion for the passion of Jesus and supernatural visions. At the end of her life, she cared for the poor and the sick in her convent's infirmary. She died at Retters at the age of 22.
