Saint Celso de Vercelli

650–660 · Medieval

Feast day: April 13

Biography

Celsus (Celsius, Celius) of Vercelli (born 611, died c. April 13, 660) was the 28th Bishop of Vercelli and a saint of the Catholic Church. Little is known about the saint; his year of birth is provided by a surviving epitaph, and he served as Bishop of Vercelli. Some authors date his pontificate to 665, but this is not supported by historical sources. His liturgical memorial is traditionally celebrated on the anniversary of his death.
